Miles – Underdeveloped Hind Limb Muscle Mass

MilesMeet Miles, our February 2020 Pet of the Month! We first met Miles in November 2019 shortly after his adoption.  Prior to finding him forever home, Miles had some health issues.  When Miles initially got into his rescue group, he was severely malnourished and also tested positive for heartworm disease.  He went through heartworm treatment and gained 30 pounds prior to his adoption.   However, Miles’ overall musculature was still underdeveloped, so his new dad was interested in rehabilitation options to help build up his strength and muscle mass.

Miles was quite shy at first in the clinic but we found out quickly that he was very food motivated and he enjoyed working for food.  His muscle mass improved quite quickly and he has filled out to be a muscular fellow.  Since working with Miles, his personality has also really bloomed and he is just a sweet, goofy boy!  He enjoys his visits here and is always up for trying new exercises.
