Meet Lady...our February Pet of the Month! Lady had a suspected disc problem in her back in August and did not improve with medical management, so her family wanted to try rehabilitation and physical medicine options. She had a lot of related back muscle pain when we met her and was treated with neuromuscular electrical stimulation, therapeutic ultrasound, acupuncture and therapeutic laser. She worked on targeted exercises to strengthen her core and re-educate her rear limb muscles and walked with assistance in the underwater treadmill as part of her rehab program too. We are happy to say that within a few months, Lady started to walk on her own and by Christmas, she was running!
