The Magic Bed

by Janelle Allen, LVT

Lilly is getting ready for her PEMF treatment on a PEMF bed.

Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy. What a mouthful! Known as PEMF therapy for short, this particular modality has many uses. It has been used in human medicine since the 1970’s to help heal bone fractures that would not heal on their own.  It has also been used to help treat pain post-operatively in human patients undergoing mastectomies and plastic surgeries.   Here at Pawsitive Steps, we use PEMF therapy on a daily basis for many of our patients. It is safe to use with the majority of pets and we see a lot of positive benefits with PEMF therapy. Let’s take a closer look at what PEMF therapy actually is and how it helps our patients.
