The Magic Bed

by Janelle Allen, LVT

Lilly is getting ready for her PEMF treatment on a PEMF bed.

Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy. What a mouthful! Known as PEMF therapy for short, this particular modality has many uses. It has been used in human medicine since the 1970โ€™s to help heal bone fractures that would not heal on their own.  It has also been used to help treat pain post-operatively in human patients undergoing mastectomies and plastic surgeries.   Here at Pawsitive Steps, we use PEMF therapy on a daily basis for many of our patients. It is safe to use with the majority of pets and we see a lot of positive benefits with PEMF therapy. Letโ€™s take a closer look at what PEMF therapy actually is and how it helps our patients.
